Reasons why you should invest in Ghana

Ghana is a country in the western part of Africa and is one of the natural reserves of oil, which has boosted Africa’s economy by a margin.

Other than that, Ghana provides numerous incentives to foreign investors, due to which you should consider to invest in Ghana.

Ghana has become a leading hub for investment. However, not many people are aware of this.

Today, we will discuss why you should invest in Ghana.

invest in ghana

Your overview

Leading benefits to invest in Ghana

There are numerous benefits of investing in Africa, Ghana, in particular. Some of the most popular ones are specified below.

Political Stability

The country Ghana is one of the most politically stable countries in West Africa. It is why it is one of the best places to invest in the world.

Being one of the most politically stable countries, Ghana’s policies are made to provide numerous benefits to both foreign and local investors.

Moreover, if a country’s system is politically stable, people will not face any inconveniences upon entering that country and doing business.

And it is exactly what Ghana offers to investors all around the world.

Ghana is the 5th most politically stable country in Africa, and because it provides incentives such as:

  • Easy transferability of net profit earned from the business in Ghana without anything in return. Except for the tax you have to pay to Ghana for running your business

  • Foreign investors, through Ghana’s business policies, are prevented from paying double taxes

  • Easy liquidation

  • Enhanced security to foreign investors, in particular, guarantees more foreign currency flow in the country. All this benefits both parties (i.e., Ghana and the foreign investors)

  • Hefty profit. Investors in Ghana earn up to 35% percent profit on their invested amount. This percentage of profit is immense and is one of the leading reasons to invest in Ghana country

Ideal geographical location and conditions

Another reason to invest in Ghana is that it has a favorable geographical location. Being in the center of the world, it offers numerous advantages to both local and foreign investors.

Other than that, despite being a developing country, Ghana Accra has a state-of-the-art infrastructure.

All this makes sure that no inconvenience is faced by businesses while transporting their goods.

Some of the benefits that you, being a foreign investor in Ghana, can get due to its ideal geographical locations are:

  • Convenient and fast access to global markets ensures maximum sales.

  • As Ghana’s geographical location helps you reach numerous countries in a short time, it also helps you during the importation of goods as you have to pay less fee for a shorter distance.

In addition, the climate of Ghana country is also favorable, as it is warm, and not much rain falls in the region, which does not disturb the businesses, imports, and export, in particular.

Moreover, Ghana also has one of the largest seaports that can accommodate about 3.5 million 22 TUEs at once.

Ghana’s terrain is not rough either. So, it also gives the added benefit of transporting goods to be sold in other rural areas.

Economic stability and growth

Economic stability refers to how stable a country’s economy is and whether the currency has any worth in the international market or not. Economic stability remains intact when government takes minimal loans.

The opposite, which is economic instability occurs when government takes huge loans and fails to repay them on time.

Economic instability causes inflation, which has adverse effects on businesses. However, Ghana has a pretty stable economy as it does not take any loans in its national market.

All this has aroused numerous business opportunities for investors in Ghana and has boosted its economy.

Ghana experienced a 6.5% GDP growth in 2019, which is significant, and an incentive for investors all around the world.

However, the Covid pandemic caused Ghana’s GDP rate to fall under 2%. But the expected GDP growth is expected to rise to 4 and 4.1% in 2021, and 2022, respectively, which is ideal for any country.

Educated labor force

Another added incentive to invest in Ghana is that Ghana has some of the finest educational institutes, which rely heavily on providing practical knowledge to students.

As a result, the labor force in Ghana Accra is educated and skilled.

Being an investor, you do not need to spend much money to train or get the labor force to learn new skills that you require for your business. All this saves you money and time as well.

It is one of the leading reasons why ICT (Information and Communications technology), and the real estate business is booming in Ghana.

Abundant natural resources

The land of Ghana is rich in minerals, and other valuable resources, which heavily boosts the economy of the region. Some of the resources that are found in Ghana are:

  • Gold

  • Oil

  • Cocoa

  • Manganese

  • Diamond

  • Bauxite

  • Iron

  • Limestone, and more.

Such high-class natural minerals and resources allow the investors to invest in mining companies and earn a hefty profit.

The high-grade Cocoa found in Ghana is used by some of the biggest brands in the world to manufacture chocolate. Being, an investor you can also benefit from this opportunity by investing in Ghana Accra.

Hence, if you want to earn a hefty profit, definitely consider investing in Africa.

Growing population

Ghana’s current population is approx. 32 million, and is growing at a rate of 2% per annum. The increasing number of populations has created more Ghana jobs.

Ghana has some of the best schools that provide quality education. Due to this, many young people are well aware of where they can get more business opportunities in Ghana.

It is why many people, young ones, in particular, are shifting to urban areas. As a result, more people are getting familiarized with modern technologies and devices, which being an investor, gives you the opportunity to invest in technology-related businesses.

Ghana’s domestic market is growing day by day, and it is why many investors are looking for the slightest opportunity they can get to invest in Ghana.

Therefore, if you are an investor, considering all these factors, you should consider investing in Africa, in its Western Region, Ghana.

You would also help the young population in finding Ghana jobs by investing in Ghana.

Sectors in which you can invest in Ghana

1. Information and Communication Technology

One of the leading sectors in which you can invest in ICT. In 2019, it was reported that around 16 million people in Ghana had smartphones. The interesting fact is that in 2019, Ghana’s smartphone usage and engagement rate was above 100%.

All this implies how up-to-date people in Ghana have become about the latest technology, which gives investors the chance to invest in these areas.

Moreover, as Ghana has some of the best schools, they still lack some of the modern equipment such as computers, which are a great medium of teaching.

In addition, to date, not many businesses in Ghana are automated. Hence, you can invest in ICT to help numerous businesses and industries get automated.

All this would allow you to earn a hefty amount of profit.

2. Real Estate

The real estate business is another business in which you can invest in Ghana. Many foreign investors are investing in Ghana’s real estate sector to fix the issue of limited capacity and earn a considerable amount of profit.

However, you must know that being one of the largest reserves of oil and gas in West Africa, Ghana’s properties are directly proportional to the prices of these resources.

But the good part is that in the end, foreign and local investors can make a profit. It is because, over time, property price rises, especially in lands filled with valuable natural resources.

Another incentive to invest in Ghana’s real estate sector is that you can control your investment, and support the community.

Below you can find a video from Vanessa Kanbi talking about buying houses for investment in Ghana.

3. Agriculture: Fertilizers and pesticides

For those of you who are not unaware of Ghana’s GDP, agriculture is one of the leading sectors which contribute heavily to Ghana’s economy, of course in addition to the oil and gas sector.

In 2013, around 21.3% of GDP came from the agriculture sector.

However, farmers in Ghana do not have access to high-grade fertilizers, or if they do it is extremely limited.

Being an investor, you can benefit from this opportunity, and invest in fertilizer and pesticides manufacturing industries, and fill the gap in the market, and earn an immense profit in a short period.

3. Energy sector

According to analysis, Ghana earns 5% less GDP due to the critical power crisis. It is why, recently, Ghana’s government has decided to work with investors that can resolve this issue.

Therefore, all this has provided investors with an excellent opportunity to invest in the energy sector.

Conclusion

The above-specified is a comprehensive guide about why you should invest in Ghana. Ghana has a plethora of natural resources that make it an ideal place for investing.

More investments in Ghana would ensure more Ghana jobs which would help the community as a whole.

All the stats specified above depict that Ghana is moving towards success and prosperity, so do not miss your chance of investing in Ghana, if you get one.
